"...an irreducible love for the fullest dimensions of the art." "Take Your Time is ample demonstration that no matter how long you work at it, the guitar and the blues contain depths that just keep opening up. And that's what you get this time out: the added luster, warmth, and degree of exposition that comes only of toil, discretion, long familiarity..."

Friends: I thought you might enjoy a video of our set at the Green Prize ecology event at Admiral Kidd Park in Long Beach, Sunday, May 1. Videographer and musician Dennis Lockett recorded the entire 1-hour show. Bobby "Hurricane" Spencer, sax, Mike Barry, bass, Roger Beall, drums. The final two songs are the first performances with a band of two Mississippi Fred McDowell's tunes I have rearranged and added some verses to, "61 Highway" and "Hollow Log Blues". Bobby comes up with some brilliant riffs on these tunes, for which I know of no precedent. Hope you enjoy it. We sure did.
